Abstract

Samples of playa sediments from Rosamond Dry Lake, in the southwestern part of the Mojave Desert, have been analyzed mechanically. These playa sediments are chiefly clays of extremely fine grain size; in five of the six analyses, more than half of the sample was found to be finer than 1 micron in diameter.
