Heavy mineral suites of Cretaceous sandstones from the Colorado Front Range are described and discussed. Progressive variation in these suites between Dakota time and Laramie time is a function of the position of the sediment in the diastrophic cycle and results from addition of first-cycle sedimentary detritus in the early stages of the Laramide Revolution. A mineral stability series for Cretaceous sediments in the Front Range area is established.
