The wells at North Haynesville produce oil and gas from oolitic lime grainstones marking the top of the Jurassic Smackover Formation in northern Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. These grainstones are the terminal high energy phase of a regressive sequence deposited on a carbonate ramp which developed across the northern margin of the North Louisiana Salt Dome Basin.
