This paper describes an empirically derived model for gold mineralization at Fairmile Gold Corporation’s Buffalo Valley Project, Nevada. The model relates gold to genetically related granodioritic intrusions, and is based on field observations and multi-element geochemistry of surface exposures and drill cuttings. This model has been successfully used to evaluate several targets on the Project, and it may as well serve as an exploration tool for similar deposits elsewhere. The model has been especially helpful in evaluating targets covered by post-mineral alluvium.
