Ladies and gentleman, members, executive, family, friends and guests of the Society of Economic Geologists: It’s a pleasure to be here today to introduce you to Tim Baker, this year’s recipient of the Lindgren Award.

I first met Tim 10 years ago as he was starting his Ph.D., at which time I was running an international field trip and conference centered on fluids, metamorphism, and mineralization in the Mount Isa block.
