Abstract
Stoichiometric method, low-grade trihydrate bauxites, rapid routine XRF and XRD analyses. It is assumed that the ore consists of a mixture of gibbsite, goethite, kaolinite, and quartz, and will be treated by a conventional Bayer process. A very good linear relationship was found to exist between theoretically and analytically determined available alumina, and the equation of this straight line can be used as a correlation to obtain calculated available alumina values which deviate by an average of 0.84 percent from experimental figures.--Modified journal abstract.
