Abstract

A considerable amount of lead and zinc, as well as fluorine and barium, has been set free from Hercynian granites and associated rocks of the southern Black Forest by hydrothermal alteration. It is conceivable that the release of these elements is responsible for the genesis of lead- and zinc-bearing barite-fluorite veins in this area.
