Abstract

Modern transportation methods have made possible a regional approach to geologic mapping and exploration that was not feasible before the last war. As a result, geologists have played an unprecedented role in the discovery of significant deposits of iron, zinc, lead, manganese, copper, uranium, tin, bauxite, coal, oil, gas, and water. There is a current shortage of economic geologists.
