Abstract

The direct association of many mineral deposits with magmatic intrusions is so evident that most geologists have assumed a magmatic origin for such occurrences without question. In recent years, however, a syngenetic origin has been suggested for a considerably larger proportion of ore minerals than formerly. Because of this deviation from the magmatic hypotheses, attention is here directed to the mineralized zone surrounding the Deloro stock in south-central Ontario, an outstanding example of the association of ore minerals with a magmatic intrusion.
