Abstract

The proposed working standards, in order of increasing reflectivity, are diamond, silicon, tungsten, nickel, and aluminum. All are isotropic, and they cover the range from 17.2 to 83 percent reflectivity. A comparison of the reflectivities of a suite of nine minerals as determined by use of various standards demonstrates the advantages of having a set of standards rather than one or two.
