Discussion of a paper by J.L. Gillson (GeoScience Abstracts 2-2420). Fluorspar does not generally occur as a "lone wolf" but rather as a gangue mineral in ore deposits, associated with one or more of: Sn, W, Be, Mo, Cu, Zn, Pb, Ag, Au, U, and Mn. Epigenetic fluorspar and Mn can act as guides in the search for new centers of mineralization.
