Abstract

Chalcopyrite and coarse cubic pyrite are associated with a suite of typical contact metasomatic minerals replacing siliceous conglomerates and interbedded quartzites at the Calzada mine. Mineralization, as well as alteration which also affected unconformably overlying graywackes, was probably related to a concealed granitic intrusion. Similar replacement ores occur in the same conglomeratic formation to the northwest and southwest.
