Abstract

The values for sulfide solubilities in aqueous solutions which are currently available in the geological literature need extensive revision as the result of redeterminations of basic thermodynamic data. New solubility data for nine of the common sulfides are presented. Calculations have been made for temperatures of 25 degrees , 100 degrees , 200 degrees , 400 degrees , and 600 degrees C., at pH values of 3, 7, and 11. The current opinion that the simple solubilities of the sulfides cannot alone account for their transport in ore fluids is not challenged.
