Abstract

Concludes on the basis of observations in mines of the copper belt of Northern Rhodesia that no members of the so-called Younger Granite are present in the area. Gray and pink granites to which metamorphism and mineralization of folded Katanga beds (late Precambrian) have been attributed are shown to be variations of the Older Granite, which is pre-Katanga in age and is believed to intrude only Lufubu schists of the basement system.
