Abstract

Copper and subordinate amounts of cobalt occur as disseminations of sulfide grains in dolomite and in quartz-dolomite veins in folded, slightly metamorphosed Precambrian dolomitic rocks in the Fungurume area, Katanga, Belgian Congo. Evidence suggesting an early epigenetic origin for the mineralization is discussed. An introduction, by H. Schuiling, outlines the geologic setting of the ore deposits.
