Abstract
Discussion of the status of coal resources studies is mostly restricted to mapping of coals, exploration, overburden studies, mined out areas, areal variation studies, and estimates of coal reserves. The work of various workers and agencies in each type of study is summarized and comments on the adequacy of the various studies are made.
