Occurrences of cassiterite are rare in Western Canada. The following brief description of a discovery at Dublin Gulch, Yukon Territory, is of interest because placer mining was carried on in this area for over forty years before cassiterite was recognized in placer concentrates in 1940, and eventually found in place in 1943.This showing at Dublin Gulch, although possessing many features in common with other tin occurrences, differs in some respects.
