As many of you will already know, Larry Meinert has decided to step down as editor of Economic Geology, after 17 years of exemplary service, with a transition to the new editor, David Cooke, during 2024. He has been the sixth eminent economic geologist to act as editor of SEG’s flagship journal during its nearly 120-year publication history, following in the giant footsteps of John D. Irving (1905–1917), Alan M. Bateman (1917–1969), Brian J. Skinner (1969–1995), Marco T. Einaudi (1995–2001), and Mark Hannington (2001–2008).
