President Robert, fellow members of the SEG, and guests: I am delighted to introduce Simon Jowitt, who is the 2014 recipient of the Lindgren Award. Simon is an excellent example of the type of young scientist who is making major contributions to our discipline. He not only has a very broad knowledge on all matters that relate to a wide range of ore deposits and has almost instant recall of that information, but he has mastered a wide range of tools with which to study ore deposits. Simon’s intellectual grasp of science and his industry are truly amazing.
