According to the authors, this book was written to provide an introduction to ore deposits and the “geographic, economic and financial elements that influence the viability of a mining operation.” This is a tall order, but a very important one. If we are to continue to produce ores that are needed by a society that is increasingly critical of our activities, then we need geologists who understand all sides of the economic geology business.
