This ambitious work, the second edition of the metallogenic map of the South American subcontinent, was coordinated and published by the Geological and Mining Survey of Argentina (SEGEMAR). It is the result of four years of collaborative effort by the Geological Surveys of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela under the aegis of the Ibero-American Association of Geological and Mining Surveys, the Commission for the Geological Map of the World, and UNESCO. The map legend and explanatory text are presented in three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
