This book reviews current research on subduction systems in oceanic island-arc settings. The tectonic, structural, and magmatic processes in oceanic arcs are generally simpler than in continental margin arcs, where subduction is typically a protracted process and magmas are contaminated by sialic crust. The papers in this volume present the geometry and characteristics of well-known intra-oceanic subduction systems and the implications for an improved understanding of subduction-related tectonic, magmatic, and hydrothermal processes. The book provides an up-to-date understanding of oceanic subduction systems, beyond that presented by...
