Northeastern Nicaragua is host to three major precious and base metal deposits and numerous smaller prospects, representing a wide spectrum of deposit types. These include the Siuna gold-copper skarn, the Rosita copper-gold skarn, and the Bonanza gold and base metal vein system, as well as occurrences of massive sulfide of uncertain origin, disseminated gold manto-style mineralization, iron skarns, and podiform chromite.
