Abstract
The topic I have chosen is sufficiently vague so that it allows me to talk about just about anything concerning energy but I do mean to stress the pitfalls, the areas where we have been wrong in the past. We in the government, and outside the government, have made some very erroneous forecasts in the past. Now I would like to describe a few of those grievous, egregious errors myself — and I'm not excluding the Energy Information Administration which I now have the privilege to head, from those forecasters who have been wrong.
