Various shear-velocity (VS) predictors differ from one another, and this difference affects a synthetic AVO gather produced at a well or for a synthetic earth model. The difference between gathers produced by using different predictors might be well within the noise level of field data and will not necessarily affect site-specific seismic-based hydrocarbon indicators.
