3D vertical seismic profile (VSP) data offer far more than just the opportunity to generate images. The 3D VSP geometry offers a rich data set suitable for examining many issues faced by interpreters and processors of geophysical data. In-situ measurements of velocity, anisotropy, Q, multiple generators, stress, and fracture orientation are all possible. This is in addition to the basic products provided by 3D VSP, namely high-resolution images of the subsurface.
