The identification and attenuation of multiples has been and continues to be one of the most complex seismic noise problems facing exploration geophysicists. Effective separation of multiples from primary reflections is a key step in multiple attenuation, and this paper examines a robust f-k multiple suppression technique that can successfully be applied to offshore 2D data sets that violate the assumptions of alternative multiple suppression technologies.
