Interpretation, as it is stated on the first page of every issue, is a “Journal of subsurface characterization” and “aims to advance the practice of subsurface interpretation.” This purpose makes the journal multidisciplinary, open for publications from a wide variety of applied-geophysics and geology topics, applications, and industries. In the past, the vast majority of the papers has come from the oil and gas industry and special sections and technical papers have addressed petroleum industry related geoscience topics.
