Abstract
Today, I am not going to talk to you about government regulation and legislation.
I am not going to talk to you about the intransigence of some who call themselves environmentalists.
I am not going to talk to you about the sluggish pace of offshore leasing in federal coastal waters.
I am not going to talk to you about land withdrawals, some the size of California, for parks and wilderness areas.
I am not going to talk to you about government price policies on natural gas and crude oil.
Nor am I going to talk to you about the newly enacted national energy policy — once described by the President as the moral equivalent of war.
What I am going to talk to you about today is Technological Innovation, The Lifeblood of Our Profession.
