Abstract
The geophysical activity which led to the discovery of the Lovell Lake oil field was begun in 1929 when it was delineated as a minimum by the torsion balance. Two reflection seismograph surveys preceded the drilling of the discovery well, and a further detailed reflection seismograph survey after the discovery was made to outline the dimensions of the structure more definitely.
