Abstract
—Possible manifestations of the Hall effect in the Earth’s magnetic field during magnetotelluric sounding are considered. Numerical calculations of the magnitude the effect for a three-dimensional heterogeneous earth, using modifications of the Trefftz method suitable for accounting for anisotropy are made for. Versions of the measurement that allow easy detection of manifestations of the Hall effect are analyzed.
