One of the most interesting and important problems of intraplate endogenic geology is thermochemical and dynamic interaction between a continental lithospheric plate and the upper mantle. This problem acquired a geodynamic aspect after the appearance of the terms “plume tectonics” (Maruyama, 1994) and “large igneous provinces” (LIP) (Coffin and Eldholm, 1994). The international symposia on Large Igneous Provinces of Asia, Mantle Plumes and Metallogeny, held in Novosibirsk in 2007 and 2009, summarized geological and geophysical data accumulated on this subject. They also touched upon a new issue, the metallogeny of LIP.
