1In 2009 the Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology (QJEGH) continued to receive a healthy level of high quality paper submissions and, equally importantly, recently published papers continued to generate lively and constructive discussion. I am sure that it is no coincidence that our Impact Factor (IF), a measure of the short-term citation rate of papers published in the journal, continues to rise.
