1We have now experienced our first full year of entirely electronic submission and indeed of the definitive electronic version of the Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology (QJEGH); previously the paper version was definitive. I must confess that I have been something of an electronic sceptic in the past but am now beginning to see the benefits that the transition towards electronic publishing brings.
