It gives me very great pleasure to introduce Robin Fell, Emeritus Professor, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.


Robin joined UNSW in 1985 after working with the Australian Government on hydropower schemes and dams for 9 years, and before that, consulting geotechnical engineers for 9 years, working on landslides, dams and tailings dams.

He has developed a research programme at UNSW into landslide risk management and deformation behaviour, and internal erosion and piping of dams in a risk framework.
