GeoScienceWorld eBook and Journal accounts are now administered through the same portal. Once on the Dashboard you can download COUNTER reports and review and update your IP address. To link to the Dashboard click here.

COUNTER Reports

Note: GSW's platform provider, Silverchair, recently identified a platform-wide issue related to gaps in data logging for COUNTER 5 reports. The root cause was identified and data has been restored for the impacted reporting periods. As a result, you can expect to see and average increase of approximately 36% in usage across all content types and actions from April - August 2021. Please re-pull any desired data from this period for the most accurate figures.

The usage reports available in the Current Year-to-Date list are from the point of platform migration (November 21, 2017) forward. Legacy usage reports from the prior platform are available at the "Download legacy COUNTER reports" link at the bottom of your account Dashboard page.

Please note that the preview does not show content. The report needs to be downloaded completely with the applicable software for the data to populate the report.

With the advent of the widespread use of COUNTER 5, as of January 1, 2021, our platform provider, Silverchair, will no longer provide data updates to COUNTER 4 reports and COUNTER 5 reports will be used moving forward. The COUNTER 4 reports will be available for historic review for the foreseeable future.

The metrics used for COUNTER 5 are different than those used for COUNTER 4 and you will not find a one-to-one comparison between the reports and you may see variances in your expected usage for GeoScienceWorld. You can find more in-depth information about COUNTER 5 here.

When accessing COUNTER 5 reports, you may receive a message “Report Queued for Processing”. If you receive this message, your reports are in process. If they do not immediately download, please check back shortly. The processing will be completed automatically, and the reports will then be available for download.
