This special issue of the journal Russian Geology and Geophysics contains papers dealing with various aspects of the study of gas occurrences in subaqual settings. These papers are based on the contributions to the VI International Conference on Gas in Marine Sediments, which was held in St. Petersburg, in September, 2000.
