Abstract
The sixty-fifth annual meeting of the Society was held on November 5 to November 8, 1984 in Reno, Nevada. The abstracts were organized into 15 technical sessions: five in igneous petrology, three in experimental petrology, three in metamorphic petrology, two in mineralogy and two in volcanology. In addition the Society sponsored two poster sessions, and one symposium: Diffusion in Mineral, Melt, and Glass Systems. Prior to the annual meeting a short course on Micas was organized by S. W. Bailey. All the sessions were integrated into the overall program of the Geological Society of America with the help of the Joint Technical Program Committee (T. L. Grove, MSA Representative).
