Small lamellae of ilmenite, with a maximum size of 3 μm by 0.1 μm have been observed in olivines from the Upper Zone of the Skaergaard intrusion and the Eucrite series of the Cullin Complex, Isle of Skye. They are exsolved on (100)ol with the approximately hexagonal close-packed oxygen planes in the two structures being parallel. The Ti probably originally substituted for Si in the host olivine.
