Abstract
The fifty-fourth annual meeting of the Society was held on November ll-14. 1973, at the Convention Center and the Statler-Hilton and Baker Hotels in Dallas, Texas. There were five technical sessions in mineralogy, sixin petrology, and a Symposium on Instrumental Analysis in Mineralogical Research arranged by Larry W. Finger and Deane K. Smith, Jr. All these sessions were, as usual, integrated with those of the Geological Society of America and its other affiliated societies.
