Abstract
A detailed description of the physical and chemical properties of petalite [LiAl(Si2O5)2] and amblygonite [LiAlP04(OH,F)] from the Karibib district of South West Africa is given here for the first time. Both these minerals constitute potential lithium ores in this area.
