Abstract
During the course of an extensive structural investigation1 of the isomorphism of the apatite group, it has become necessary to investigate the substitutions of the sort found in wilkeite. Although this mineral is reported to contain approximately 12 per cent of SO3, 9 per cent of SiO2 and only 21 per cent of P2O5, it was correctly assigned to the apatite group by Eakle and Rogers (1) on the basis of its crystallographic, physical and optical properties.
