Two euhedral crystals of vein-hosted fluorcaphite in back-scattered electron (left) and their cathodoluminescence image (right). Back-scattered electron images show distinct crystal zonation: brighter zones are Sr-enriched and correspond chemically to fluorcaphite, darker zones correspond to fluorapatite. Element distribution maps for Sr, Ca, and F illustrate the relative abundances of these elements in individual zones (default colours: blue – very low, green – low, yellow – medium, orange – high, red – very high). In the cathodoluminescence image, fluorcaphite (Fcp) shows bright yellow–green luminescence while fluorapatite only weak. The host analcime (Anl) without luminescence is penetrated by younger calcite (Cal) veinlets with a strong orange luminescence. See Kropáč et al. (this issue).
