This issue contains six papers arising from the ‘Frontiers in Environmental Geoscience’ meeting, which was held in Aberystwyth, Wales, UK, from June 21st to 23rd, 2011. The scientific focus of the meeting was on recent advances in research into environmental mineralogy, geochemistry, biosystems and toxicology.
