The Mineralogical Society is involved in many areas of activity: we organize conferences, provide awards and bursaries, publish books and journals and have seven special interest groups. The publication of journals is arguably the most important of our activities. The first issue of Mineralogical Magazine was produced in 1876. The journal has been published continuously since then and is highly regarded in its field. It generates much of the income that is required to support the Society's other activities.
