Another in the series on minerals first found in a particular country, this book reports 264 Italian type minerals, minerals named after Italian individuals and minerals named after Italian institutions. Overall, it follows a similar format to many of these other books containing physical information, type locality, name origin, IMA status, remarks on particularities of the mineral along with synonyms or historical information. It is richly illustrated and contains many colour photographs. A number of annexes give supplementary statistical information useful for those wishing to have a geographical appreciation of where type minerals are from within Italy.
