The 12 papers in this book have been brought together following a session convened by the editors at the 2006 AGU Fall meeting in San Francisco, entitled `Dynamics of crustal magma transfer, storage and differentiation - integrating geochemical and geophysical constraints'. The session looked quantitatively at the broad area of magma dynamics and evolution, evaluating rates and mechanisms of magma ascent, temperatures and pressures of magma storage, magma chamber size and the links between magmatic processes at depth and volcanic eruption at the surface.
