This book is intended as an introductory text to the current state of the art in the field of quantitative techniques in textural analysis of igneous and metamorphic rocks. The principal aim of the book is, in the author’s own words, to discuss “aspects of petrological theory necessary to understand the development of crystalline rock texture”.
