This is an account of a small part of the Precambrian Lewisian Complex around Gairloch, NW Scotland. It deals only with events between ~3 and 1.2 Ga. It is accompanied by a very clear and most useful coloured geological map, at a scale of 1:20,000 which extends about 13 km in a NE–SW direction, but does not show any Phanerozoic intrusions, such as Tertiary dykes, nor does it contain a cross-section.
