This volume arose from a short course on Stab1e Isotope Geochemistry in November 2001 in Boston, and follows on from the 1986 volume in the Reviews in Mineralogy series. Although the earlier volume was restricted to high-temperature fields, this new book covers a wider range of disciplines, which probably reflects the expertise of the authors, rather than being a comprehensive review of a certain aspect of stable isotope geochemistry. The result is a collection of chapters where some deal with general principles and others are very specific. The first three chapters present principles and form a useful database for equilibrium...
